Cute antique wind-up pig automaton from 1890s

Here is a video of an automaton walking pig by Roullet and Decamps from around 1890. The sound is great!

    I have one of these automaton walking pigs. It was my mother's first Christmas present in 1924. Do you think it was new then? I was told it was bought at FAO Schwarz.I have the key but the pig does not work anymore. Any easy fix or just leave it alone?
