Air Hogs Zero Gravity Wall Climbing R/C Car

Spotted today on BoingBoing.net (and to them by way of Geekologie) -- the Air Hogs Zero Gravity Micro RC Car. It runs on (flat) walls and even under tables by using a powerful mini-vacuum. It runs for about 10 minutes after about 30 minutes of charging. Have the laws of physics changed since I was a kid? They seem cooler now and capable of much more!

Check out the Air Hogs Zero Gravity Micro RC Car.

Like lots of cool toys these days, this is another one that will end up at the bottom of the toybox after 30 minutes of play. It's going to get pretty boring after a short time (the guy in the video was hardly awestruck), especially when parents start complaining about dirty marks being left on their walls and ceilings.

They should give the toy a kind of purpose. How about attaching a fly swot or spider web cleaner or even a paint brush? Get the kids to do something useful while they play.

Jem,

You make a good point. A purpose for the car would keep it fun beyond the initial "gee whiz" phase. I like the insect catcher idea. How about a cobweb sweeper or duster?

I suppose the addition of some obstacles or a track would be fun too. You can get them in more than one frequency so that you can race two cars at once.

Regards,

Dug
