Reader Contribution: Wacking Jimmy the Rat!
Dedicated reader of The Automata / Automaton Blog, Tony Anagnostopoulos, has sent in this video of his latest creation. Good concept and good fun!

I've been doing mechanism experiments with the idea of building a whole workshop full of automata powered woodworking figures, kind of like what Wanda Sowry has done.
First experiment was helped along by the folduscandidate figures

second one is more specific to the woodworker shop plan, a saw using a bell crank, snail cam for a hammer and the fast return lever will power a hand plane

your book suggestions have been a huge help, especially the work of Rodney Peppe and Rodney Frost
Thank you,
Michael
