Book: Making Mad Toys & Mechanical Marvels in Wood
Here is a new book from Rodney Frost, the same author who wrote one of my all-time top ranked wood automata-making books: Whacky Toys, Whirligigs & Whatchamacallits
(see this post, for the other top ranked automata-making books).This book is not available as of July 2007. I have ordered it, but cannot review it. Last month I noticed he had some new books on the way - I'm quite excited, as my only complaint about his other books (I own the woodworking one and the "Wacky Toys.." one as well) is that there weren't more of them! His writing style is really enjoyable.

I feel the same way about his first book. I am sure these two are going to be among the top ones for building wood automata.
You are right, his writing style is really fun. I also like how he provides plans, but is realistic about how to use them. There will be trial and error. He encourages you to experiment.

This is the same book as:

only the cover is different. I purchased it from Amazon, had to return for credit.
